Major Award-Winning Renovation

A major renovation in which we fused the original 1957 elevated dwelling with a new 190 square-metre extension. Every room in the old house was upgraded. A large wing with open-plan living room, kitchen, six-square-metre pantry, three verandahs and en suite bathroom was added upstairs, and a studio apartment, third bathroom and a six-car undercover carport was built underneath. The outcome is a substantial renovation that retained the classic Darwinian architecture and breeze flow, incorporating innovative techniques and finishes to transform the home into a contemporary showpiece.

This property was the 2009 winner MBA ‘Renovation of the Year’.
