We’re a full construction company, so we can build just about anything you can draw up a plan for. But most of our work falls into the following categories:
Paul McGrath’s Constructions is probably best known for renovations. Over 15 years in Darwin we’ve carved quite a niche in designing and constructing some pretty special tropical renos - we’re responsible for many of them in Darwin, Palmerston and the rural area.
The classic old Darwin elevated dotted around Fannie Bay and Parap has become a firm favourite – we completely overhaul these with some amazing results. A sample of what we’ve achieved is turning a pre-cyclone shack into a breezy tree house, built a custom studio with cathedral ceilings, loft and an underground storage cavity and fused old with new to more than double the living space.
We can build you a custom new home from bare ground to move on in. We’ve been lucky to partner with some of Darwin’s most innovative architects and designers over the years to construct a number of new homes for clients who want something different that doesn’t fit any mass-produced mould. Check out the studio in Rapid Creek and the new home in Humpty Doo as examples.
Outdoor living spaces
During the dry, a good deal of our living is done outside – eating, entertaining, relaxing and pottering. Blurring the boundary between indoor and outdoor living is something we’ve helped plenty of customers achieve over the years. Timber decks, verandahs and patios can add enormous value to your home, and they’re a relatively cost-effective way to drastically extend your living space. Check out some of the outdoor living spaces we’ve created.
Paul and his workers are qualified tradesmen and experts working with steel. We’ve built all manner of sheds, converted industrial workshops to contemporary living spaces, built mezzanines in existing structures and managed a local photographer’s complete studio fit out.
We service a portfolio of commercial and government clients and have delivered many commercial projects in our 15 years. Our transformation of an unused space at Stuart Park School is our most recent commercial job and won two commercial award categories in 2011 for both the Master Builders and HIA.
Other commercial work we’ve done includes the stables at Fannie Bay Racecourse, buildings for Paspaley Pearls, Modwood decking at Stokes Hill Wharf, upgrading the Punters and Collectors bar at the Parap Tavern, sheds and workshops in the industrial areas and commercial fit-outs.
We’re fully registered and insured, CAL accredited and members of both the Master Builders Association and Housing Industry Association in the Territory.
